Each year thousands of visitors come to this area for many reasons, every season is attractive in its own way: in Winter , mountain climbers flock to the Gredos Regional Park, in summer, tourists seek the cool of the many streams rushing down from the mountains forming natural pools.

The annual medium temperature is about 24 degrees. Phoenicians, Celtics and Romans had already noticed the advantages of this mild climate. This explains why there are so many traces of these civilisations in the area.

The villages in the area have grown maintaining their identity, with narrow streets and quaint architecture, while at the same time respecting the nature that surrounds them.

The closeness to Madrid, Leon, Avila, Segovia or Extremadura makes our region an easy place to escape to. Foreigners will also find easy access to world heritage cities, and being less than an hour and a half from Madrid this valley is a strategic point starting point for visiting Northwestern Spain.

Our region offers a multiple choice of activities: hang gliding, quads, horse riding, bikes, donkey rides, golf, canoes, fishing and hunting or simply relaxing, watching birds or wildlife , such as the Spanish Ibex, picking mushrooms or berries , cultural visits, hiking from the Platform Nogal del Barranco on the Southern face of Gredos, and many other activities.
