Just an hour and a half from Madrid, and only two from Badajoz, on the A V, the Southern face of the Gredos Mountains is the perfect destination to get away to.

A weekend in Autumn in the Valle could consist of:

1.- Friday evening arrival at your selected accommodation, reception and dinner.
2.- Saturday morning, after an excellent breakfast: horse riding.
3.- Lunch at Dim Restaurant.
4.- After lunch a visit to Arenas de San Pedro visiting the castle and palaces
5.- Dinner at El Rodeo Restaurant.
6.- Sunday morning, a pleasant walk picking mushrooms or wild berries.. You could also visit the bee museum. Gerardo, one of the most knowledgeable bee keepers in Spain, will be pleased to explain the social life of these insects and how they make honey. There is also a small shop where products made from honey and beeswax are on sale.
7.- Before you leave the area visit the Celtic village, just beyond the village of El Raso, and make sure you stop off at El Muérdago, a little shop selling local produce and souvenirs.
8. Have lunch at Ropino Restaurant.
9. Leave for home.
